Custom-printed gifts and gear can effectively be used in employee incentives, client appreciation gifts, and customer loyalty programs.

A new report from Incentive Federation, Inc. – the Incentive Marketplace Estimate Research Study – found that businesses in the United States spend about $176 billion a year on incentive programs, including branded gifts and custom-printed merchandise for employees, clients, and customers.

Specifically, the report showed that a majority of companies use promo products for client gifts.

These gifts – sent to anyone who does or has paid you for your products/services – can be used during the holiday season, as a way to show appreciation, when onboarding a new client, as a promotion, to celebrate an achievement, and beyond. When used, these gifts can improve the relationship between a brand and its clients, according to more than 80% of participants in a recent Forbes study.

Some top recommendations include logo padfolios, branded Bluetooth speakers, customized bags, and imprinted gift sets.

Additionally, the study focused on the spending that goes into employee incentives and customer loyalty incentives.

A brand may use promo products as a way to encourage its team to get more sales, bring in more business, participate in a wellness challenge, and more. The goal here is to think about what will actually be utilized and successfully incentivize participation, such as logo power banks, branded wireless earbuds, custom smart watches, and promotional drones.

Then there are customer loyalty programs, which reward those who engage with and purchase from your brand. Yotpo found that nearly 70% of people are interested in joining in on these customer retention strategies and would even be willing to spend more with brands they love. Therefore, branded tote bags, logo pens, custom-printed water bottles, and promotional shirts can be mailed as gifts, included as freebies with orders, handed out at trade shows, and so on.
